2008 – The Arrival of Muay Thai in Bangladesh

In 2008, something powerful and new quietly took root in the heart of Dhaka. Beneath the open sky and shaded trees of Shahid Dr. Fazle Rabbi Park in Gulshan, a handful of passionate individuals gathered—not just to train, but to plant the seeds of a future martial arts movement in Bangladesh.
These early sessions didn’t happen in a fancy gym or with a crowd of spectators. They took place on concrete floors and grassy patches, with simple equipment and unstoppable dedication. There were no banners, no lights—just the raw spirit of Muay Thai and a group determined to bring it to life on Bangladeshi soil.
This humble beginning marked the arrival of Muay Thai as an organized sport in Bangladesh. It was more than a training session—it was the start of a movement grounded in discipline, tradition, and heart. What started in that small park would grow into a national passion, connecting Bangladesh to the global Muay Thai community.
