2016–2018 – Making a Mark on the World Stage

The years 2016 to 2018 marked a transformative chapter for Muay Thai in Bangladesh. During this period, Bangladeshi athletes went beyond training and national preparation—they began competing internationally, placing Bangladesh firmly on the map of global martial arts.



2016 – The First Step: Delhi, India
In 2016, Bangladeshi fighters participated in the World Martial Arts Championship held in Delhi, India. This event was more than just a competition; it was a powerful statement that Bangladesh was ready to engage in the global arena. Competing against experienced international athletes gave Bangladeshi fighters essential exposure, revealing both the challenges and the immense potential they held.



2017 – Expanding Horizons: United Kingdom
Building on their momentum, the team traveled in 2017 to the Third World Martial Arts Championship in the United Kingdom. This was a landmark achievement—the first time Bangladeshi fighters represented their country in a major European martial arts event. The experience sharpened their skills, broadened their perspective, and built confidence among the athletes and the national community back home.
2018 – Earning Respect: Manama, Bahrain
By 2018, the team had grown stronger and more unified. Their participation in the World Martial Arts Championship in Manama, Bahrain reflected the rising standards of Muay Thai in Bangladesh. The athletes not only competed with determination but also gained the respect of international coaches and judges. This event helped solidify Bangladesh’s presence in the global martial arts community.
A Turning Point in Global Recognition
These three consecutive years of participation laid the groundwork for future success. They marked the evolution of Bangladesh from a newcomer to a serious contender in international Muay Thai. For many of the fighters, these events were life-changing—both as athletes and as national ambassadors.
