2013 – First International Recognition

Five years after the first open-air training in Dhaka, Bangladeshi Muay Thai fighters stepped onto the global stage for the very first time. In 2013, a team of dedicated athletes traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, to participate in the prestigious International & Thai Martial Arts Games & Festival.
For the fighters, it was more than a competition—it was a dream turning into reality. They stood among athletes from around the world, carrying the flag of Bangladesh and the hopes of a budding martial arts community. The moment was symbolic: a small but determined nation was making its voice heard in the international Muay Thai scene.
This event marked Bangladesh’s first official appearance at an international Muay Thai competition, setting a precedent for the years to come. It was proof that hard work, even without big facilities or national funding, could lead to global recognition. More importantly, it inspired a new wave of athletes back home, showing them that the world stage was within reach.
From that point forward, Muay Thai in Bangladesh was no longer a quiet movement—it was a rising force
